Call for Applications – Programme Manager

Hanns Seidel Foundation India invites applications for its office in Bengaluru, for the position of Programme Manager, starting 1st April 2026.

Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung e.V India is a political foundation and think tank from Germany actively supporting development cooperation in over 50 countries worldwide. In India, the foundation in collaboration with local partners, supports capacity-building measures, national and international policy dialogues with the aim of effectively localising and achieving sustainable development goals. HSF India's projects are primarily focused on youth engagement, good governance, climate action, and security, including women-led development. The position involves the following key tasks and functions:

  • Project planning and management: Conceptualisation and execution of the Foundation’s projects in the area of political cooperation, youth participation in governance, federalism and others.
  • Develop, manage, implement and co-organise online and offline activities such as seminars, studies, delegation visits and conferences together with authorities and partner-organisations
  • Develop and maintain programme-related personal contacts with relevant government and non-government departments, public sector and not for profit organisations and other relevant stakeholders
  • Contribute to the internal knowledge-base on key subjects of partner projects by means of regular articles, reports or similar
  • Full cycle project management including project administration and partner management
  • Project controlling and reporting in line with German regulations

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in social sciences, development/ political studies, law, management or similar.
  • A minimum of three years of project management experience in the field of international development cooperation or the NGO Sector.
  • Experience with publicly funded projects, project management and monitoring.
  • Experience in cooperating with government departments or authorities is an added advantage.
  • Excellent command over English, Kannada & Hindi (optional) in spoken and written form. Knowledge of German language is an added advantage.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Thoroughness in handling administrative or financial matters
  • Interest in political affairs and international relations
  • Good writing, communication and people skills
  • Proficiency with modern office, communication and computing software
  • Pro-active and independent approach to work
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally
  • Work in an international team
