Question & Answer session between Elected Women Representatives from Rajasthan and EWRs as well as Chairman from Jhusi regarding women participation in decision-making

He was amazed that an organization from Rajasthan came to visit him and discussed some relevant issues while the local organizations had never come up with these subjects like increased participation of women in village panchayats. He is of the view that the awareness level of women in Uttar Pradesh is low as compared to Rajasthan. Mr. Prakash Kesarwani, Head of Bargarh Panchayat, Chitrakoot, ensured active participation of elected women representatives in the panchayat. He shared his experience of a National Conference in Hyderabad in which he and a woman sarpanch (head of panchayat) of Rajasthan presented their work together.

SIDART Team and elected women representatives were invited by Mr. Ram Lakhan Yadav at Jhusi for a meeting. After the meeting, the team members visited households for interaction and observation of hygiene and sanitation practices as well as political participation in panchayats in the area.

The learning visit was an extensive experience sharing opportunity between the states of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
