Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM)

MANUVIKASA, with the support of Hanns Seidel Foundation, has developed a Handbook on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) for the farmers in the Indian state of Karnataka. This handbook aims to help farmers integrate the principles of IWRM into their agricultural practices. Save water by using it efficiently lies at the core of this handbook. Water recharge & storage are highlighted as essential strategies to combat water shortages, especially during the summer, which often result from the overexploitation of water resources, particularly groundwater. The revival of the dying water sources & improving water-use efficiency in agriculture can turn the corner & improve water situation.
